On Mother’s Day morning, we found a marshy area and stopped the car for a couple of hours, just listening and watching all of the happenings around us.  The weather was cool and lovely, and the road was a minimum maintenance road so there weren’t any other passersby.  I could spend every morning like we spent this one!

Though the red-winged blackbird is very common across North America, I think they’re special birds.  I’ve included a youtube video of their sound at the bottom of the post.
