even in winter, spring can bloom

AB0A7024-2My Mother’s Day gift yesterday was to drive the backroads of Merrick County.  It was the perfect gift.  I hope to go back each season and photograph this gorgeous old house.

    1. Thank you. We came around the section and there it was in the field. I felt like it was Christmas. I was sad we were there in the middle of the day because the light wasn’t great. But, it will be fun to go back and visit at better times of the day.

  1. Reminds me of my Grandmother’s house which is still standing in Va. This picture has inspired me to get photos before time takes it’s toll. Great Shot.

  2. Oh, it’s a beautiful shot, and one of my favorite things to do is drive on back roads in our county. But I have to say, abandoned country houses make me so sad. It makes me lament the simpler times when families all lived in the same community, and it begs us question our “urban lifestyles.” Sorry to get so philosophical over a photo, but that’s what good art is supposed to do, right? 🙂
