snowflakes made my day

After loading these shots into Lightroom, it struck me how something so small as a snowflake could have such a big impact on my day.

    1. I’m a Canon user, and it’s their 100mm 2.8 macro. I LOVE that lens, but the shots are highly cropped, so a shorter focal length might be better for snowflake shots. (guess what’s going on this year’s Christmas list? 🙂 )

  1. I’m always a fan of the snowflake! Here in DC we’re all ramping up for a big snowfall this weekend. That said, I’ll believe it when I see it! The newscasters here are really good at getting everyone worked up and then nothing happens. At times I think they’re really just in cahoots with the grocery stores to clear their shelves.

    1. I agree. I expect other things to be sensationalized in the news, but it still surprises me how they even sensationalize the weather! And I bet you’re going to get the snow we got yesterday. It was beautiful.

  2. I agree with you on the issue of sensationalizing the weather reports, but this past week the sensational turned out to be accurate for our area. Love your snowflake pics. They make me wish for a macro lens.

  3. very cool images. i think what strikes me is that you’ve captured something so fleeting and impermanent. i need to get a macro lens as well, and quit flipping my regular lens around backwards to hack it. 🙂

      1. I do live in a rather scenic place, but after seven years, it feels as if I’ve shot everything there is. A macro lens could possibly re-ignite my interest.
